I am so excited to have been asked to perform in the upcoming staged musical reading of “Hello! My Baby” for one of the Powerhouse Theatrer Apprentice Program performances on August 1st at 5pm. It’s a new show that has only been seen in workshop in LA. It takes place on Tin Pan Alley in NYC and they are excited to be able to show it with a NY based cast. I am working with an amazing director, Christa Kimlicko Jones, and an anxious for the first read through tomorrow morning. Most of the performers are part of the apprentice program but they had a few adult roles and I was referred to Christa thanks to my recent performance in “Dutchess Divas” the first Half Moon Theater fundraiser. Mama Gold is a warm and caring mother of three girls and as a family they are struggling to make ends meet and keep food on the table. Mama Gold depends on her girls to work in the factory for a small pittence each week to help pay for the “protection” offered by the local thug. When her middle daughter has an attitude toward her boss all three get fired and they have to figure out a way to pay for the “protection” as well as their basic needs. Hilarity insues with musical fun, interesting characters and of course a good love story or two. I hope you’ll join us. It should be great fun and a barrell of ragtime!
