David Port at Entrepreneur.com recently spoke with a number of online retailers about the success of their Web sites. Now he’s got the scoop on what makes a site attractive and profitable! Check out his suggestions and consider how your Web solution provides these tools and services.

1. Offer incentives on your home page! Attract new and returning site visitors by posting some sort of discount or freebie for Web shoppers. This tip is more relevant than ever, because so many consumers are using the Web to seek out great deals!

2. Keep your contact info visible. Tell your prospects and clients to post their phone number, address and e-mail on each page of their Web site. It’s one of those ‘little things’ t! hat makes a big difference!

3.
Make sure your site is visually appealing. “These days, it’s tough to get by with a wallflower of a Web site,” Port writes, adding, “Consider investing a little extra for a unique, appealing and clean site that fits your company and brand identity.”
Great news! Your prospects don’t have to spend extra cash on creating an appealing and unique Web presence. Using the tools available through your solution, they can customize their site easily…without the added cost of a Webmaster!

4.
Add video features. Port reminds readers “in the ! heyday of YouTube, don’t overlook the power of video.”
As Web entrepreneur David Gass explains, video is “where the Internet is heading: well-done video that not only can save someone a lot of reading but it also standardizes your sales pitch, so the message you’re conveying is consistent and exactly how you want it.”
If you’ve got a prospect who’s not certain how they could effectively make video additions work for their online storefront, tell them what people like Gass are doing! No matter what the industry, your prospects will undoubtedly benefit from embedding a short video tutorial or welcome message from the owner.

5.
Follow-up! Tell your prospects and clients that as soon a! s a site visitor provides contact information, they should send an e-m ail acknowledging their interest. According to Port, doing so will “set the stage for a series of e-mail communications to (the customer)-marketing offers, product announcements, newsletters and the like.”

That’s a vital tip for any business owner. Interaction and communication with site visitors is pivotal, but it doesn’t have to be difficult! Our Web solution makes sending targeted, customized e-mails easy and convenient.
