Do you have an older demographic of customers, clients, patients? Do you think that a Web site is a waste of money because the Baby Boomers and Beyond don’t use the internet? You will be surprised to know that Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing discovered in a recent study. eMarketer reports that the CTAM found seniors and Baby Boomers are turning to the Web in droves. According to the study, 94% of seniors (over age 65) use the Web to check their e-mail, and 77% are shopping online.

eMarketer’s assessment of the study found that “seniors were more likely than any other age group to conduct e-commerce activities.”

Baby Boomers weren’t far behind, either. The CTAM noted that 93% of that age group use e-mail, and 71% use the Web to shop.

These age groups are frequently ignored when it comes to the online channel, but research often demonstrates that they’re using the Web just as much as younger generations! Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to build virtual relationships with your older demographic of clients. You can reach new customers with a professional online presence.
